Why I Wrote This Book

I like actors and I have always liked helping them to succeed in their careers. I am constantly asked, “How do I get started as an actor?,” “My daughter or son wants to be an actor, and I have no idea how to go about it,” “Can you help me get into the business?,” “What are the first things that I should do?,” “Should I get a manager or an agent?,” “Why am I not getting more callbacks, they seem to really like me?,” “How do I meet the right people?,” “What kind of classes should I take?,” “How can I do better at my auditions?,” etc.

The requests and questions are endless, so I decided I would write a book to answer them. While on vacation in Boston, I turned to my good friend, Rochell and said, “I have been thinking for sometime now about writing a book to help actors.” Rochell, who has a very eclectic background in theater, television and film, jumped at the idea. So the book project was born. Now we just had to write it.

About Lisa London

Being born into a Hollywood family, was such a important part of my life and I have been thankful every since. As a young girl, I tagged along with my dad, Director, Jerry London on many of his television shows. These projects took us all over the world and introduced me to some of the most outstanding talents of the day.

He directed such television projects as, Hogan’s Heroes, Partridge Family, Happy Days, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Six Million Dollar Man, Rockford Files and many movies of the week including, The Scarlett and The Black with Gregory Peck, Christopher Plummer and Sir John Gielgud. Mini-series such as Wheels with Rock Hudson and Lee Remick, Chiefs with Charlton Heston, Keith Carradine, Danny Glover, and Stephen Collins and Shogun with Richard Chamberlain who was the heartthrob of the times. Below are some pictures of me when I was younger with these actors on sets. It was like winning the lottery to be able to watch these actors perform their art.
